Advising | Admission to Psychology | Course Information | Career Planning | UT Resources

Faculty:

Dr. Joseph M. Horn, Ph.D.

Contact:

Jody Ernst, jhen@mail.utexas.edu

Description:

Our study is looking into the genetic and environmental components of the origins and development of personality, intelligence, and psychopathology, using a sample of 300 Texas families with either adopted or both biological and adopted children.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of Psy 301 and 418, with a B or better in both.

Duties:

Research assistant will need to become familiar with the adoption paradigm and how it is employed to answer questions about the roles of genetics and the environment on the development of human behaviors. As such, you will be required to do some relevant readings on the topic, sit in on lab meetings, and assist in coding and entry of data. A paper is not required, but is an option if the RA is interested.
