Individual Differences TTH 12:30-2:00 WAG 101 Horn
Description: Individual Differences takes a close look at all the factors operating to make people different from one another. Among the factors considered are genes and other biological influences, social class, sex, and schooling. These influences impact the individual in the areas of intelligence, personality, psychopathology, vocational interests, and values. The importance of these individual differences is seen in the different life outcomes found for people who show significant differences in these basic traits. Some attention is also paid to the controversies surrounding the measurement and the use of measurements of individual differences. Texts: To be announced. Grading and Requirements: Exams: 2 - mid-term, final. Each exam will be part essay and part multiple choice. Prerequisites: Psychology 301 with a grade of C or better, Psychology 418 or an equivalent statistics course with a grade of C or better, and upper division standing.
