Epidemiology TTH 12:30-2:00 MEZ 402 Lewis
Description: Epidemiology is sometimes thought of as the counting of disease, this many cases of schizophrenia, that many cases of neurosis, and so on. There is more to epidemiology than counting. Lectures on methods of epidemiology and group projects teach the "sport" of it - each group will create a disease; find a way to cure, prevent, or mitigate damage of other groups' diseases. Texts: No textbooks. Grading and Requirements: Papers, 7 pp. each = 25% of grade. Paper: 10 pp. = 25%. Exam = 25%. Groups, 1/2 group, 1/2 individual = 25%. Prerequisites: Psychology 301 with a grade of C or better, Psychology 418 or an equivalent statistics course with a grade of C or better, upper division standing, and six semester hours of upper division psychology.
