Psychology of Language

Partially fulfills Area I requirement in psychology

Description:

Scientific studies of production, comprehension of language; learning of these abilities. Strong biological orientation; detailed consideration of evolution of language, relation between language and brain function.

Texts:

No textbooks. Note packets will available after the first class day.

Grading and Requirements:

Exam: midterm 75 minutes. 33 1/3%

Final 2 1/2 hours. 66 2/3%

Exams consist of multiple choice and short answer questions, and at least one essay.

Prerequisites:

Psychology 301 with a grade of C or better, Psychology 418 or an equivalent statistics course with a grade of C or better, and upper division standing.
