PSY 357 Eating disorder prevention program for adolescent females with body image concerns

Description:

This study compares a dissonance-based group that critically examines the current thin-ideal for females, a healthy weight management group focusing on making healthy lifestyle choices, a writing exercise in which participants explore emotional issues that may be related to body image concerns, and a waitlist control group.

Qualifications:

Students who can make a 2 semester commitment are preferred.  Should be able to commit to 10 hours/week, be responsible, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with people.

Duties:

Duties include administering clinical interviews for eating disorder symptoms, administering questionnaires, tracking participants, data entry, and data management.
