Description:

Psy 359H is the first course in the Psychology Honors Program. The course has two goals. The first is to give students experience in planning an original piece of research. The second is to familiarize students with various ethical, practical, and personal issues involved in the conduct of science. In this course students identify a research problem, prepare a review of previous research on the problem, and design an original experiment addressed to the problem. They then prepare a detailed written proposal for the research. They also discuss ethical issues in the conduct of human and animal research and read about and discuss what makes for eminence in science.
