Human Sexuality MWF 11:00-12:00 BEN 204 Meston
Description: This course on sexual behavior is designed with the following objectives in mind: 1) to increase your factual knowledge, 2) to give you an appreciation of sexology (which includes research, therapy, and education), 3) to create an atmosphere where issues can be discussed thoroughly and where all views can be expressed freely, and 5) to help sharpen your writing and critical thinking skills. Some of the topics that will be covered include: the physiology and anatomy of sexual arousal and response, gender identity and roles, sexual orientation, attraction and love, sexual dysfunction, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, pregnanacy and childbirth. Prerequisites: Psychology 301 with a grade of C or better, Psychology 418 or an equivalent statistics course with a grade of C or better, upper division standing, and 6 semester hours of upper division psychology.
