Description:

Development of children's thinking, from infancy through the elementary school years. The goal of the course is to familiarize students with theory and research on cognitive development in children. Topics include Piagetian theory, Information Processing theory, language development, conceptual development, social cognition, memory.

Grading and Requirements:

Exams: 2, midterm and final, 50% of grade.
Papers:
Term paper: 10-15 pp., 30%.
Revision of paper: 10%.
Reaction papers: (total of 8, 1 p. ea.), 10%.

Prerequisites:

Psychology 301 with a grade of C or better, Psychology 304 or 333D, Psychology 418 or an equivalent statistics course with a grade of C or better, and upper division standing.
