Introduction to Psychology - Honors TTH 12:30-2:00 PAR 306 Holahan
Description: This course covers the full scope of psychology as a science. Topics include: human development, biological aspects of psychology, sensation, perception, learning, thought and language, mental abilities, personality, psychological disorders, social cognition, social behavior, and group influences. In addition to class lectures, students will learn about psychology through two first hand experiences. Students will design an experiment on a topic of their choice in psychology using scientific resources. Students will also visit an active psychology laboratory and learn about both the conceptual and practical issues in conducting psychological research. Texts: Bernstein, et al. (4th edition) Grading and Requirements:
1 final (essay) 30% 2 papers: Prerequisites: Restricted to Plan I/II Honors students.
