Dr. Sam Gosling's presentation on canine personality traits at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science resulted in worldwide media coverage. Stories appeared in more than a dozen outlets including The New York Times, The Irish Times, The Economist, BBC News, The Australian, Hindustan Times, Times OnLine, and The Independent.
Dr. Gosling has recently launched the Animal Personality Institute, an interdisciplinary organization for bringing together research scientists whose work contributes to understanding personality and temperament in non-human animals.
Other research also includes studies which explore how personality is revealed in real-world contexts in everyday life (e.g., bedrooms, web sites, music collections), tracking intellectual trends in psychology, and collecting data using the internet.
