Brain Study at UT Austin!

You are invited to find out if you qualify to be in research studies at the Poldrack lab at The University of Texas at Austin. We are seeking healthy people from Austin for research on thinking, brain function, and genetics. If you are interested in

* coming in to our lab to play simple computer games OR

* letting us take pictures of your brain using an MRI OR

* giving small blood samples for genetic research,

go to our website at http://j.mp/rPWHsZ to find out if you qualify for any or all of the studies in our lab by taking a short online survey!

You won't be paid for the survey at http://j.mp/rPWHsZ, but the studies you can qualify for can pay $10, $15, or $25 per hour.

For most studies, you must

* be at least 18 years old

* have at least an 8th grade education

* speak English fluently

* not be using any medicine for psychiatric reasons

Men and women needed for relationship study

The Loving Lab at The University of Texas at Austin, headed by Dr. Timothy Loving, is currently recruiting 18-25-year-old men and women for a study investigating romantic relationship experiences. Feeling, Thinking and the Brain

Dr. Jennifer Beer and her lab are looking for volunteers to participate in a study examining the brain, feelings, and thinking. You will receive $15 an hour. The study last about 1-2 hours.

Studies take place at the UT Imaging Research Center, 3925B W Braker Lane, Austin, TX

Eligibility Requirements:

No history of head trauma
Not claustrophobic
No metal in body
In good health
Not pregnant
Right-handed
18-35 years of age or 65-80 years of age

Adults with autism, Asperger’s Disorder or Pervasive Developmental Disorder, NOS (ages of 18 to 21) needed

Adults with autism, Asperger’s Disorder or Pervasive Developmental Disorder, NOS (ages of 18 to 21) are needed for a study examining the effects of temperamental and social factors on facial emotion recognition. Participation includes looking at pictures of faces on a computer screen and identifying the emotion expressed by each face. Participants will also be asked to complete several tasks as part of a standardized test of cognitive abilities. The research session usually lasts about 2 hours (with breaks). $60 compensation and free parking are provided. If interested, please call 471-5414 to set up an appointment.

College Students Needed for Personal Characteristics Online Study

College students over the age of 18 are needed to participate in a study investigating personal characteristics in college students.  Participants must have majors in the college of Fine Arts, Engineering, Social Work or Business and have taken at least 3 classes in their major. Paid volunteers needed to participate in decision making study

The Self Regulation Lab at the UT Austin Department of Psychology is conducting a study on differences between healthy individuals and chronic drug users in decision-making processes. The Self Regulation Lab seeks healthy volunteers with no history of drug use to participate in a single session at the Department of Psychology (approximately 1.5 hours). Participants are interviewed about drug use and psychiatric history and then perform a series of tasks on a computer. Participants receive $10 per hour for participation

The Mood Disorders Laboratory at the University of Texas invites males and females 22 years and older to participate in a study aimed at better understanding depression. 5-6-month-old infants needed for a research study

5-6-month-old infants needed for a research study of infant physiological responses to faces, objects, and music. Your baby will be shown video clips of faces or objects on a computer monitor. We will be collecting noninvasive scalp recordings of your infant's brain activity in response to these various types of stimuli while observing your baby on a TV monitor.
