Minimum requirements for an adjunct teaching position are a Masters degree and 18 graduate hours in psychology. And hopefully, but not required, some experience in teaching online or hybrid courses and familiarity with Blackboard (Vista-version).
And finally the instructor once approved through HR for adjunct teaching will need to have their online teaching skills verified through the SAC Instructional Technology Center in which any training can be provided through a series of online workshops. Dr. Hill will provide mentoring for the adjunct during this process and during first semester teaching.

A postdoctoral position is available to study learning and memory in the auditory cortex of the rat. The primary auditory cortex has proven to be an excellent model system for the study of cortical memory traces because its learning-based plasticity is associative, highly specific, rapidly acquired, shows consolidation over hours and days and exhibits long-term retention. Applicants should have experience in electrophysiology of the auditory cortex or experimental psychology of animal learning, and preferably skill at writing MATLAB scripts. Training will take place in a rich research environment at the Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory at the University of California Irvine. Salary is commensurate with experience. Job Summary: The Department of Psychology at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in social psychology to begin in the Fall 2012 semester. We are open to candidates from all areas of social psychology but are particularly interested in research programs focused on culture, gender, and context.
The Psychology Department at UConn currently has 47 FT faculty and 150 FT doctoral students, and offers Ph.D.s in the divisions of Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical, Developmental, Industrial/Organizational (I/O), Perception-Action-Cognition (PAC), and Social Psychology. Interdivisional collaborations are strongly encouraged, as evidenced by three active graduate certificate programs (in Quantitative Research Methods, Occupational Health Psychology, and Health Psychology) and by emerging interdivisional programs in neuropsychology, cognitive science, and developmental psychopathology. 2. Waisman Center Post-Doctoral Training in IDD Research
Two post-doctoral fellowship positions are currently available at the Waisman Center, supported by a T32 from the NICHD. The emphasis of the program is on understanding social, affective, communicative, and family processes as they relate to intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program provides multidisciplinary training in social, behavioral, and biobehavioral research on intellectual and developmental disabilities, and includes exposure to a diverse set of research approaches including epidemiology, neuroimaging, biomarkers, genetics, among others.
The program includes a set of experiences common to all fellows, but is individualized to meet the needs, interests, and professional goals of individual fellows. Each fellow completes a program of research training and a core curriculum. Research training includes: planning and conducting independent research; collaborating with program faculty on research; and participating in regular research meetings with mentors. The core curriculum includes seminars on: biobehavioral research, theory, and methods in intellectual and developmental disabilities; research design and data analysis; race, ethnicity, and culture; research ethics; and professional development, including obtaining extramural research funding.

Two Post-Doctoral Research Associate Positions at the University of Sheffield, UK
An exciting opportunity exists for two Post-doctoral Research Associates to work alongside Dr Thomas Webb on an ERC-funded research project that will investigate when and why people fail to monitor their goal progress. Although the successful candidates will share core skills, each post has a slightly different focus.
The first candidate will have experience using qualitative as well as quantitative methodologies and have experience working in field contexts. You will take the lead on studies involving these methods and be responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting a series of studies involving interview methodologies, survey work, lab-based experiments, and field studies; including working with diabetics and dieters.
The second candidate will have experience conducting research using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), designing computer-based experiments, and ideally some experience using eye-tracking equipment and/or measuring psychophysiological reactivity (e.g., heart-rate and skin conductance). You will take the lead on studies involving these methods and be responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting a series of studies involving fMRI, lab-based experiments, and eye-tracking.

Post doc- behavioral sleep medicine

The R25T NCI-supported Clinical Research Training in Cancer Control Program of the University of Rochester is located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. We are actively seeking applicants for our eighth class to begin the summer of 2012. The program provides energetic, committed post-doctoral M.D. or Ph.D. researchers with the knowledge and experience to establish careers as outstanding independent investigators in cancer control and prevention research.
Our 14 trainees who have completed at least one year of the program have been awarded over $8.5 million in total grant funding including three K-07, five K-l2, two ACS and one Dermatology Foundation Career Development Awards along with eleven LRP awards, two minority supplements, two R-21, a Komen Foundation Award, a DOD Idea Award, and five pilot grant awards. Graduates hold faculty positions at Stanford University, Washington University, University of Miami, Mayo Clinic, University of Colorado, Health Departments of the states of New York and California and Departments of Radiation Oncology, Family Medicine, Dermatology and Medical Oncology at the University of Rochester.

The program eagerly seeks highly motivated individuals with doctorates who are committed to developing a successful research career in cancer control as independent investigators. The post doc will work in the Judgment and Decision Making Lab under the direction of David Budescu, and will be part of IARPA's Aggregative Contingent Estimation (ACE) Program. The goal of the ACE program is to develop and test tools to provide accurate, timely, and continuous probabilistic forecasts regarding local, national and global events by aggregating the judgments of many widely-dispersed analysts and communicating effectively the results to Decision Makers (see http://www.forecastingace.com/aces/). The ideal candidate should have completed a Ph.D. in Psychology Cognitive Sciences, Computer Science, Statistics, Decision Sciences, or related fields with graduate training in experimental design, advanced statistical techniques, judgment and decision making, experience with on-line experimentation and strong computational skills. The post doc will help design, carry out and analyze results of experiments design to (1) improve elicitation procedures of probabilistic judgments from multiple analysts and summarize and (2) develop and validate procedures that communicate effectively these opinions.

PhD position in social-cognitive neuroscience of self-control
Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD position in social-cognitive neuroscience of self-control. The successful candidate is to work on an interdisciplinary research grant funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation on "Neural mechanisms of self-control depletion and its mitigation" under the joint supervision of Dr. Malte Friese (Division of Social Psychology, University of Basel, Switzerland) and Prof. Björn Rasch (Division of Biopsychology, University of Zurich, Switzerland).
The aim of the research project is to examine neural mechanisms underlying impaired self-control after the initial exertion of control and strategies that successfully counteract this effect. The project strongly builds on brain imaging methodology such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG). The candidate will be involved in all stages of the project, including study design, data collection, data analysis, presentation of results at conferences, and in preparation of manuscripts for publication.
Requirements. Candidates should hold a university degree in psychology (e.g., Diploma, Masters degree, etc.). The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in bridging social psychology and cognitive neuroscience (i.e. social-cognitive neuroscience). Experience with brain imaging methodology such as fMRI and/or EEG would be highly advantageous, but is not mandatory. The appointment will begin on January 1st, 2012, or at the candidate's earliest convenience. Salary will be ranging from CHF 40.800 to CHF 46.800 annually.

The I/O program is a highly selective, research-intensive masters program. We are seeking an outstanding researcher and teacher to be the fifth member of the I/O faculty. As the rank is open, both junior and senior candidates are encouraged to apply. The area of specialization is also open, but candidates who are strong in methods/statistics and/or who will create synergistic collaborations within the Department will be given strong consideration. professor positions with responsibilities in support of our
undergraduate and graduate offerings in Psychology.
The first requires sufficient skills in statistics and psychometrics to
teach such courses at the graduate level. Although area of research is
open, applicants who could further support our PhD program in Cognition

We recently received funds from the Department of Education to support a post-doc for up to three years to work on various consciousness related research projects in my laboratory at the University of California Santa Barbara. The primary area of research will entail examining and remediating the negative effects of mind-wandering on reading. Opportunities to work on other projects including the relationship between mind wandering and creativity or the impact of discouraging a belief in free will on behavior will also available. It would be helpful if the candidate had technical skills such as experience with eye-tracking, physiological measures, erp, eeg, and/or fmri, however this is not a necessary requirement. An interest in philosophical issues, a broad minded perspective, and a capacity for open mindedness combined with methodological rigor are also qualities that would be of value in the lab. Three Positions in Psychology at Colorado State University
The Department of Psychology at Colorado State University invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions with an appointment date of August 15, 2012. The positions are at the rank of assistant professor, although exceptional candidates at higher ranks may be considered with a strong, recent record of external funding for research. All positions require a Ph.D. or equivalent in psychology or a closely related field by the appointment date, and an active research program leading to peer-reviewed publications. The three positions are:
(1) APPLIED SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY with an emphasis on health, broadly construed. The philosophy of the Applied Social Psychology Program is to use social psychological principles (i.e., theory and empirical foundations) and strong research methods to investigate socially based issues and to evaluate ameliorative efforts associated with these issues. The ideal candidate will focus on one or more of the following topics: contextual influences on health (e.g., environment, social relationships, workplace), risky health behaviors, and health disparities across the life course (e.g., ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation). Teaching responsibilities will include graduate and undergraduate courses in social and health psychology.
(2) COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY. Area of specialization within cognitive psychology is open, but preference will be given to candidates who build upon the Program's strengths in human learning and human memory. The ideal candidate will have a range of behavioral research skills and conduct basic empirical research that is closely integrated with theory. Teaching responsibilities will include graduate and undergraduate courses in cognitive psychology.
(3) COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY. This position is for our APA-accredited Counseling Psychology Program; candidates must have a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited Counseling or Clinical Psychology Program (or equivalent). The successful candidate must also have a license or be licensed-eligible as a psychologist in the State of Colorado. Purpose: To provide training, project management and monitoring and evaluation to Mental Health Education and Services projects in Iraq.

Summary: This position primarily provides co-leadership with national faculty at Koya University for the establishment, operations, and ongoing development of the first graduate program in applied psychology in Iraqi Kurdistan, as a major initiative for capacity building in the Iraqi mental health field. The position entails oversight of all aspects of the program to ensure that it meets appropriate educational standards in the preparation of versatile, competent, and professionally responsible clinical professionals who can then contribute to further growth of the discipline. It additionally calls for a knowledge of contemporary psychological science, theory, and models of practice with individuals and systems, and the ability to culturally adapt them to the clinical needs of Kurdish and Arab populations. These needs include but are not limited to trauma recovery, treatment strategies for depression and anxiety, prevention of gender-based violence and suicide, and elimination of stigma and promotion of human rights for those with psychological problems. The position secondarily entails responsibility for close collaboration in program planning, implementation, and evaluation with the leadership of the Trauma Rehabilitation and Training Center and clinical supervision of the center staff and additional mental health workers in the Burn Hospital and other sites as needed. It also calls for consultation regarding services at the Qalawa Camp, the Duhok Mental Health Center, and other related mental health projects as needed, including the integration of psychosocial approaches and psycho-education into the delivery of primary care treatments. The majority of beneficiaries will be victims of human rights abuses, and the position requires both academic and work-related experience in trauma-informed mental health care. The individual will report to the Country Director and be based generally three days a week on the campus of Koya University and the rest of the week in Sulaimaniya or on field visits in Iraqi Kurdistan. The position also may involve national and international travel.

Educational and experiential qualifications
The position requires a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology with successful completion of a one-year internship accredited by the American Psychological Association. It also requires graduate level psychology teaching experience; and an academic appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at a university is preferred. State licensure and diplomate certification in Clinical or Counseling Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology or other advanced training certification are also preferred. Significant experience in cross-cultural psychology, trauma-related assessment and therapies, clinical supervision, and international educational and training programs is strongly recommended as well.

Tasks:
The postdoctoral researcher will continue the work started within this project by collaborating with the supervising team to plan, carry out, analyse and report experimental studies that examine the implications of discrimination claims for majority and for minority group members.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Social Psychology and be able to demonstrate that s/he is able to conduct research independently and of international quality, as demonstrated by international peer-reviewed publications. This position is to work on an interdisciplinary research grant awarded to Prof. Thomas Mussweiler (Department of Psychology) and Prof. Axel Ockenfels (Department of Economics), University of Cologne, Germany.
The aim of the project is to examine the cognitive underpinnings of social behavior in economic interaction. The work will involve the adaptation of paradigms from social cognition and behavioral economics research. Applications are sought for the position of Post-Doctoral Researcher as part of an international project entitled 'Ritual, community and conflict', based in the Centre for Anthropology and Mind at the University of Oxford, funded by the ESRC and directed by Professor Harvey Whitehouse.
The project brings together an international, interdisciplinary team of anthropologists, psychologists, historians, archaeologists, and evolutionary theorists from 13 universities conducting research at field sites in approximately ten countries around the world. This five year programme of research investigates one of the most powerful mechanisms by which groups may be formed, inspired, and coordinated: ritual. The project's three major objectives are to investigate: (1) the psychological foundations of ritual; (2) the effects of ritual on ingroup cohesion and outgroup hostility; (3) the role of ritual in the evolution of competing political systems. The Post-Doctoral Researcher will contribute to work on the second objective and will be supervised by Prof. Harvey Whitehouse.
The position will be based in Vancouver, Canada, and will also involve an extended trip to the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The Post-Doctoral Researcher will help design and implement both field and laboratory studies concerning the effects of ritualized behaviour on ingroup cohesion and outgroup hostility in both locations with the collaboration of established researchers.
The successful applicant will have a good working knowledge of the social, cognitive, and evolutionary sciences and will have significant research experience in experimental economics and/or psychology. Doctoral degrees must be completed before appointment to the post. Researchers must have the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative research team and will have the opportunity to work with experts on religion, cognition, and conflict from around the world.

Job description
This position is based in the Social Psychology department. The research within this department is theoretical as well as applied, and includes themes such as collective action, group identity, cognition and emotion, communication, conflict, and integration. The position is a PhD position based in a research project funded by NWO. The project examines the psychological consequences of participation in collective action (e.g., signing a petition, participating in a demonstration) through experimental and field studies. The key aim of the project is to acquire a better theoretical and practical understanding of how participation in collective action leads to a sense of empowerment (i.e., a stronger sense of power as a group) and politicization (i.e., stronger identification with a social movement). The position therefore entails preparation and execution of experimental and field research, data analysis, and writing a PhD thesis and journal articles. It is also important to hav
