DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS AWARD 2000
ROBERT PLOMIN, Ph.D.
On March 31, 2000, the Department of Psychology's first Distinguished Psychology Alumnus Award was given to ROBERT PLOMIN.
Dr. Plomin is MRC Research Professor in Behavioural Genetics at the Institute of Psychiatry in London. He is internationally regarded as one of the foremost scholars in the area of human behavior genetics. Much of his ground-breaking work has focused on examining the role of genes and the environment on behavior and psychological functioning. His most recent work involves molecular genetics and identifying specific genes that might underlie intelligence. He obtained his Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Texas.
