Please consider submitting an abstract for a paper presentation or a poster presentation at the Neural Systems of Social Behavior conference. The Neural Systems of Social Behavior conference will take place Friday, May 11-Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the Austin Hilton in Austin, Texas, USA.

Invited speakers include:

Dr. Ralph Adolphs (Cal Tech)
Dr. David Amaral (UC Davis)
Dr.Colin Camerer (Cal Tech)
Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrett (Boston College)
Dr. John Kihlstrom (UC Berkeley)
Dr. Elizabeth Phelps (NYU)
Dr. Tania Singer (University of Zurich)

This conference will focus on the biological systems supporting social processes from the perspectives of Social Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, and Economics. Examples of social processes include but are not limited to social cognition (both self-perception and person-perception), emotional processes (experience, regulation, learning, empathy), motivation, decision-making, altruism, and reward/punishment. Research examining human and non-human populations adopting a variety of neuroscience methods such as brain imaging (e.g., fMRI, PET, EEG/ERP, TMS) and lesions/naturally occuring damage are encouraged.

Submissions for talks and posters are invited until December 15, 2006.

Talks are fifteen minute presentations; posters are standard poster presentations. All submissions must include title, author names and affiliations, and an abstract of 250 words. Abstracts should include the goals of the study, a description of the methods used, a summary of the results and a conclusion. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be emailed in early February 2007.

The conference is made possible by generous support from the Donald D. Harrington Fellows Program, the University of Texas at Austin, and the American Psychological Association Science Directorate.
