Fitness Study

Description:
This project is investigating the effects of exercise on sexual arousal in sexually dysfunctional women taking antidepressants of the SSRI or SNRI class. RAs will be trained in psychophysiological measures of physical and subjective sexual arousal, data management and analysis using SPSS and Excel, clinical interviewing skills for screening procedures, and literature review (i.e. finding, summarizing and synthesizing interdisciplinary sources).
Qualifications:
- Proficient in use of Word, Excel, Web research (e.g. PsychINFO, PubMed, GoogleScholar)
- Quick learner, especially on computer-based tasks
- Due to the physiological nature of the data collected, I prefer (but do not require) students to have a background in biology or neuroscience
- Commitment to at least 2 consecutive semesters (can be in summer)
Duties:
- Recruit participants
- Coordinate communication with area doctors for referrals
- Screen participants through phone interviews
- Run participants through exercise intervention
- Monitor psychophysiological data collection
- Clean and enter data
- Run preliminary data analyses using SPSS and Excel
- Conduct literature searches
- Coordinate with PI on ongoing review of methodology
