PSY 357 Influences of educational TV on children’s racial attitudes

Description:

The interests of the Holden Lab cover a wide range of behaviors concerning various aspects of parent-child relationships. This particular study investigates the role of educational television and parent-child discussions about television content in improving children’s racial attitudes.

Qualifications:

We are seeking responsible and reliable students who are interested in gaining research experience.  Students must commit 10 hours per week.  Good communication skills, attention to detail, and basic computer skills are required, and experience working with children is preferred.

Duties:

The main tasks consist of interviewing children (age 5-7), administering questionnaires to parents, and entering data into SPSS.  Other tasks include recruiting participants and minor office duties and library work.  A 3-4 page paper will be required at the end of each semester.
