Description:

There is a growing interest in how psychological processes work in cultures other than the U.S. Some of the interest has been stimulated by discoveries that many social psychological phenomena that have been widely accepted differ dramatically when they are studied in other cultures. This course will examine social psychology from a cross-cultural perspective. The behavior impact of organizational and professional cultures will also be discussed. The nature of work in multi-cultural organizations will constitute a final topic. The course will be taught as a seminar with class discussion. This class contains a substantial writing component.

Grading and Requirements:

2 Research Papers, 1 Term paper.
Students will present summaries of research papers.

Prerequisites:

Psychology 301 with a grade of C or better, Psychology 319K, Psychology 418 or an equivalent statistics course with a grade of C or better, and upper division standing.
