Description:

The study of group behavior is at the heart of social psychology. Most human behavior is transacted in group settings. Leadership is also a topic of both theoretical and practical significance. This course will explore research into group behavior and leadership. The course will be taught as a seminar with class discussion.

Chemers, M. & Ayman, R. Leadership theory and research: Perspectives and directions. 1993

Baron, Kerr, & Miller. Group process, group decision, group action.

Grading and Requirements:

2 Research Papers, 1 Term paper.
Students will present summaries of research papers.

Prerequisites:

Psychology 301 with a grade of C or better, Psychology 319K, Psychology 418 or an equivalent statistics course with a grade of C or better, and upper division standing.
