Partially fulfills Area I requirement for psychology Description: Develop depth of student's understanding of statistical and methodological issues, and improving research skills. Lectures. Considerable amount of reading. Student will conduct original research. Written and verbal communication of the results of this research will form core of course. Active participation in class activities is critical. Participation in meetings or research activities outside of regular class hours may occasionally be necessary. Tools of critical thinking. 1997 Grading and Requirements: Majority of grade determined by papers. Prerequisites: Psychology 301 with a grade of C or better, Psychology 418 or an equivalent statistics course with a grade of C or better, upper division standing, a GPA of 3.0 in Psychology courses taken at the University, and a major in psychology.
