Description:

The purpose of this course is to explore the various aspects of development from infancy to adolescence through discussion of current theoretical perspectives and empirical research. By the end of this course, you should have an understanding of how and why developmental research is conducted. You should also have a basic understanding of the physical, cognitive, and emotional & social milestones an individual experiences at each level of development.

Berk, L.E. (1999). Infants, children, and adolescents. (3rd ed.)

Grading and Requirements:

Three in-class exams and one final exam. You may drop your lowest grade from one of the three in-class exams. There will also be a small project requiring observation and application of course material.

Prerequisites:

Psychology 301 with a grade of C or better.
