PSY 357 Genetic Influences on Self-Esteem

Description:
Preliminary data findings support the hypothesis that genes may also play a role in determining self-esteem. This study aims to replicate those findings while controlling for specific personality traits, and further correlate the gene with attentional biases as well as reactions to positive or negative feedback.
Qualifications:
Students must have completed Intro Psych (Psy 301). Preference will be given to those who can commit for more than one semester.
Duties:
Students must be reliable and have an interest in Psychology research. Roles include running participants through various experimental tasks, collecting genetic saliva samples, and data entry. Student must also attend weekly lab meetings as well as attend a one time 2 hour biosafety course on campus.
