PSY 357 Depression Prevention Program for Adolescents

Description:
This study compares a cognitive-behavioral group in which adolescents critically examine their thoughts and behaviors, a supportive/expressive group designed to allow adolescents to express their emotions and feelings in a supportive environment, and an assessment-only control condition.
Qualifications:
Students who can make a 2 semester commitment are preferred. Should be able to commit to 10 hours/week and be responsible, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with people. Availability to work afternoons (3:30pm-6:00pm) at least two days per week (Monday through Thursday) is ideal.
Duties:
Duties include co-facilitating prevention groups for females and/or males at risk for depression (most groups will be run at sites off campus), conducting phone screens, collecting data, recruiting and tracking participants, data entry and data management.
