PSY 357 Language Development in Young Children

Description:
Assist with one or more studies exploring language development. Topics include: How infants identify the sound patterns of their native language; how parents help to shape language learning; how toddlers learn word meanings; how conceptual development influences language development (and vice versa) in 2- to 6-year-olds.
Qualifications:
Must be responsible. The research requires that students interact with parents and young children, so it is essential that assistants be present and on time when appointments are scheduled. A two-semester commitment is preferred.
Duties:
Assist with conducting experiments with children; also some scheduling of appointments and coding of videotaped data.
