UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH PROJECT

Faculty:
Yvon Delville, Ph.D.
Contact:
Matt Newman, Ph.D. mnewman@psy.utexas.edu
Description:
The high school years can be cruel, and many people suffer through the stressful experience of being bullied. Do people who are bullied grow up to be more aggressive? Do they think aggression is a good response when someone wrongs them? Are the constantly Òon edge,Ó and more reactive to stressful situations? Our lab examines these questions, and the role that different hormones play in the answers. If youÕre looking for a mix of biological and social psychology, then this is the 357 for you!
Qualifications:
Prefer psychology majors, who have taken PSY 418 (or are currently enrolled). Looking for students who are very responsible, detail oriented, enthusiastic and self-motivated. Must be able to work independently.
Duties:
IÕm looking for someone to help with collecting and analyzing data. YouÕll learn how to interact with subjects, how to run some statistical analyses, and how to analyze peopleÕs hormone levels.
