Language Development in Young Children

Description:

Assist with one or more studies exploring language development. Topics include: How infants identify the sound patterns of their native language; how toddlers learn word meanings; interactions between language and conceptual development in 2- to 4-year-olds; children’s understanding of emotion in language.

Qualifications: Must be responsible. The research requires that students interact with parents and young children, so it is essential that assistants be present and on time when appointments are scheduled.

Duties:

Assisting with running of children in experiments; also some scheduling of appointments and coding of videotaped data.

Other Information:

Research is conducted in the Children’s Research Lab, on the first floor of the Seay Bldg.
