Notes: This Course Offered on a Pass/Fail Basis Only
Description:

The major purpose of this individual instruction course is to provide an opportunity for advanced and qualified undergraduates to obtain firsthand, supervised research experience in psychology. The student will usually assist a professor with a research project by helping to prepare the study and by running subjects in the study. The student may work with a graduate student who is doing research supervised by a professor. The student should not expect to be able to conduct an experiment of his/her own.

Texts: None

Grading and
Requirements:

A paper on the research experience in which the student participates will be required. The course grade will be determined by both research involvement and the paper. PSY 357 is offered on a Credit/Fail grade basis only.
PSY 357 may be repeated for credit. It will not count toward the hours of psychology courses required for the psychology major, but may count as elective hours toward the 120 hours required for the Liberal Arts BA degree.

Prerequisites:

Enrollment in PSY 357 is restricted and therefore students cannot register themselves. Consent forms can be picked up in SEA 2.218. Forms must be filled out by the student, signed by the professor and returned to SEA 2.218 before the 12th day of class. An Undergraduate Office staff will add you to the course (so please be sure at the time you turn in the form that adding the class will not put you over 17hrs).
