Description:

We are conducting a 12-week clinical trial examining the effects of quitting smoking on sexual functioning in men who are long-term smokers and who report erectile impairment. Sexual functioning will be measured both physiologically and via self-report questionnaires in order to determine if men who stop smoking demonstrate an increase in their sexual health.

Qualifications:

We are seeking motivated male students who have a strong interest in health-related disciplines such as, but not limited to, psychology, medicine, biology, neuroscience, chemistry, and/or physiology. Preference will be given to research assistants who are able to commit to working at least two semesters (fall and spring). Additionally, we ask that applicants have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Duties:

This project provides outstanding training opportunities for students interested in gaining both clinical experience and research experience. Duties will include screening patients for eligibility, subject testing, data entry, database management, and data reduction. Research assistants may also have the opportunity to gain experience with data analysis, IRB proposal writing, and grant writing.
