PSY 357 Efficacy of an acute exercise intervention for SSRI-induced sexual side effects

Description:
This project is investigating the effects of exercise on sexual arousal in sexually dysfunctional women taking antidepressants of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class. RAs will be trained in psychophysiological measures of physical and subjective sexual arousal, data management and analysis using SPSS and Excel, clinical interviewing skills for screening procedures, and literature review (i.e. finding, summarizing and synthesizing interdisciplinary sources)
Qualifications:
- Proficient in use of Word, Excel, Web research (e.g. PsychINFO, PubMed)
- Quick learner, especially on computer-based tasks
- Commitment to at least 2 consecutive semesters (can be in summer)
Duties:
- Recruit participants
- Coordinate communication with area doctors for referrals
- Screen participants through phone interviews
- Run participants through exercise intervention
- Monitor psychophysiological data collection
- Clean and enter data
- Conduct literature searches
- Coordinate with PI on ongoing review of methodology
