Description:

Help with one or two of three possible studies (we can discuss which studies best suit your interests): The first study is a placebo-controlled trial investigating the efficacy of certain behavioral tehcniques in the treatment of fear of heights. The second is a study examining self-administered interventions to reduce pathological academic worry. The third is a treatment study for social phobia, public speaking subtype, and examines ways to make exposure treatment more potent for this population.

Qualifications:

Lab hours are relatively flexible. I need someone who can commit to 10 hours of work per week. Some upper division psych classes and stats preferred but not necessary.

Duties:

The majority of your time will be spent screening potential participants, conducting pre, post, and follow up assessments (which include a diagnostic ninterview, questionnaires, and behavioral tests), some data entry and participant file organization, and tracking of participant compliance. Some research assistants may be trained to conduct behavioral treatments for these anxiety disorders. Those working on the social phobia study may also be asked to be audience members in a public speaking setting.
