PSY 357 Making Software Easier to Use

Description:

At Applied Research labs we are looking into more effective ways to evaluate and test human interactions with software, in order to find problem areas that the programmers can then redesign for ease of human use. This is an experiment to see how usability professionals perform using traditional versus contemporary methods.

Qualifications:

Psychology or LIS major. Preferred: at least on course in statistics or research design. 10 hours per week, during regular business hours, but flexible within that timeframe (you will be credited for travel time). Location: Applied Research Laboratories, J.J. Pickle Research Center at Mopac and Braker Lane (shuttle from main campus available).

Duties:

You will assist the primary researcher in preparing research materials, recruiting usability professionals, screening participants, organizing and evaluating data, and exploring research conclusions.
