Bryan
Hartzler joined the SAHARA lab upon entering the UT Clinical Psychology
doctoral program in 1996 after having previously received a B.S.
from the University of Washington. While in Austin, Bryan contributed
to a number of research projects amidst completing a thesis focused
on student drinking patterns during college entrance and a dissertation
that utilized the ‘barlab’ to explore etiological and
prognostic aspects of alcohol-induced blackouts. Bryan returned
to the Pacific Northwest in 2002 to complete his internship at the
Seattle VA Hospital, and formally received his degree in 2003. He
remains there on an interdisciplinary addictions postdoctoral |
|
fellowship within its VA Center of Excellence in Substance Abuse
Treatment and Education. Bryan remains active in research, currently
assisting on projects evaluating provider acquisition of motivational
interviewing skills as well as investigation of cognitive changes
among stimulant abusers during the immediate course of addictions
treatment. He looks forward to attaining his professional licensure
in WA state, as well as continued involvement in a blend of scientific
and clinical activities. |
