The Department of Psychology announces

The Clarke A. Burnham Memorial Excellence Endowment

Our valued colleague and friend, Clarke Burnham, died on March 12, 2009.  In recognition of this wonderful man who affected the lives of so many aspiring students of psychology, the Department of Psychology is pleased to announce our effort to fund the Clarke A. Burnham Memorial Excellence Endowment for Graduate Student Support.  This endowment fund will serve both to honor Clarke and to provide support for graduate students into the future.

Among Clarke’s many contributions to the University and the Department in his forty years here, Clarke supported and inspired thousands of undergraduate and graduate Psychology students. From 1982 until his retirement in 2005, Clarke served as graduate advisor, helping more than 330 students obtain doctoral degrees in Psychology. In spring 2000, he was named Outstanding Graduate Advisor by the College of Liberal Arts.

This endowment fund will serve as a remembrance of Clarke’s life-long commitment to higher education.  We hope you will consider joining with us by supporting this fund.
